World Space Week Celebration Held at JKUAT


On 6th October, As the World Space Week celebrations continue, the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) in collaboration with Women in Space Kenya, RIIS - Research Institute for Innovation and Sustainability, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) held a mentorship talk at the University. The Mentorship Session themed “Living in Space” included talks from experts and industry players including private sector and renown space author Col. Christopher A. Roosa, who wrote "Son of Apollo".

The global celebration, observed annually from 4th to 10th October and Kenya is proudly part of this worldwide event.

Held at the Exhibition Hall, IPIC Building, the event brought together university students, space enthusiasts, and professionals for a day of learning, inspiration, and mentorship. The KSA team, led by Maj. Aloyce Were, while representing the Director General noted the significance of space for socio economic development and the active role the Agency and partners are playing to create awareness and attain sustainable space ecosystem in Kenya.

The experts actively engaged and mentored students on various aspects of space from upstream to downstream and available opportunities to be explored within Kenya’s growing space ecosystem.
